Fall Festivals

For those that haven't heard, we were set up for a 4th of July festival when the big derecho came and flattened us. Here is just one picture of the damage it caused, you can find lots more on our facebook page.

Thankfully with a lot of hard work and a new tent frame, we are back in business and have learned to be less ambitious and not set up for a festival any earlier than we have to. Laziness for the win!

So we are gearing up for our fall festival season and are very excited to get back in the game. Please visit us and our new and improved equipment along with some new menu options at the following festivals:

Crozet Independence Day Celebration - June 30, 2012

Obviously when you think 4th of July you think of fireworks, hot dogs and crepes right? No ... just me? Find us at the Crozet Independence Day Celebration at Claudius Crozet Park on June 30th and let me change your mind. You can find all the information about the parade and fireworks here.

A very good friend of mine took new spiffy pictures of all the crepes so I'll post the menu in a bit. I'll also have a new Red White and Blue crepe to try, along with an All American BLT crepe that is FANTASTIC!

Hope to see you there!

Ash Lawn-Highland’s 18th Annual WineFest

If out of town drivers and drunk celebrating college graduates is not your thing, then you'll avoid Charlottesville like the plague this weekend and instead come out to the Ash Lawn-Highland 18th Annual WineFest. While you are there, make sure you stop by Kira's Crepes because nothing goes better with grapes, than crepes! Here's our menu to help you decide.

If you've been reading me for a while now, you know how I love a good deal. The more money I save you, the more money you'll have available for a crepe! In that spirit, if you plan to go to the WineFest, buy your tickets now and save $5. If you can't make it this weekend, but still want to check out Ash Lawn-Highland,  WishWish can make it happen for cheap.

One of the vineyards featured at this wine festival is First Colony. We held our wedding reception there and they hold a special place in my heart.  WishWish is offering a deal on a First Colony wine tasting.

The weather is suppose to be beautiful, so I hope to see you this weekend.

Ash Lawn Highland Virginia Wine Festival - Featured Winery's

It appears that Ash Lawn-Highland's Virginia Wine Fest website is still down. Since a lot of people have been asking me for information, here is what I know.

Ash Lawn-Highland's 18th Annual Virginia WineFest is May 19-20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $15 for advance reservations (through May 18 only), $20 at the door and $7 for children under 12. HOWEVER, Cville Saver is selling half price tickets so if you are going buy those and save the rest of your money to buy crepes.

Food at Ash Lawn-Highland's Virginia Wine Fest:
Kira's Crepes - Menu
Wood Fired Pizza

Winery's at Ash Lawn-Highland's Virginia Wine Fest:
First Colony (Tangent: Happens to be one of my favorites, Mr. Kira's Crepes and I had our wedding reception here and it was beautiful.)

I got this information from the promoter so I'm fairly certain it is accurate, however only a few of these vineyards list this event on their website, so who knows.

If this page was useful to you, please stop by during the festival and say hi ... and maybe buy a crepe too, they are tasty.
